I can't believe I've written a chapter of my novel. Much less FIVE WHOLE CHAPTERS. This is more than my procrastinating high school self could've ever imagined.
I've always wanted to write novels, but I always froze when my pen hit the page or my fingers hit the keys. Now, I feel like I have the tools to at least get a story down on the blank page. I think I finally started writing consistently when I realized two things:
1) My first book will probably suck
2) It only goes up from there!
I've been hungering for some good fantasy fiction stories, but there hasn't been a whole lot of new writing that interests me. Eventually, I realized, why don't I write something?
So I did.
Or at least I started to.
This is going to be a year long journey, maybe longer. The goal is to get a story down within 6 months, and then over the next 6 months I'd love to be working solely on revision. Will I submit it to publishers? Absolutely. Am I prepared for rejection? No, but who cares.
God gave me a passion for stories. I can only assume he gave me this passion for sharing my thoughts on the page as well. And even if I finish this novel with only two people excited to read it, that's totally fine with me. Let's do this thing! Stay tuned for updates and maybe... sneak peeks?
